I held my first child (boy) always. I would have him in a baby carrier to my chest while I cooked, cleaned, worked in our home office. He’s now 21. 3rd year at uni doing a double degree. Our relationship is good. My second child (girl) was taken away from me during the day and cared for by her grandmother while I worked in our business. I felt sad for this. I also lost my milk at 5 months because of the absence during day. She is first yr at uni but our relationship is not close. She’s never liked me to hug her or anything like that. My 3rd, 4th & 5th (girls) all were held by me and constant contact with me when small. I have a good relationship with them. I think holding and contact definitely makes kids more attached and more emotionally strong and more compassionate as people. In my case anyway.
