Individual and Group Therapy

I am an ANZACATA registered Art Therapist. I specialise in working with women and other primary caregivers individually or in groups. I employ a psychodynamic, compassion focused, attachment and trauma informed approach built with each client with a focus on relationship as a primary source of healing.

I have a private practice in Caulfield, Victoria. I also provide initial home visits for new mothers and those struggling to leave their homes as well as online therapy. I work with primary caregivers, and mother’s groups. Infants and partners are welcome to attend.

My area of expertise include:

  • Mothering experiences and struggles, including the development of a sense of meaning and purpose

  • Mother/child relationships of any age

  • Anxiety, depression and PND/A

  • Attachment

  • Maternal grief and loss

  • Empty nest

  • Mothering with chronic pain and perimenopause/menopause.

You do not need to consider yourself an artist to benefit from Art Therapy. My therapeutic approach is about creating a safe relationship for us to explore your experiences in ways that are not limited to words. Sometimes we don't quite know what is wrong or we might be too exhausted, anxious or in pain to communicate clearly. This is where creative, relational and embodied explorations can help by bringing experiencing into to awareness and supporting making sense, relational power and acceptance. It can often be about unearthing the images that keep us in painful patterns and working with these images, including verbally, in ways that transform them and us.

In our work together we will focus on how your unique experiencing emerges, gathering information and growing our understanding. With insight we can develop internal and external resources, feel more grounded in our lives, more aware of the quality of our relationships and needs, and more able to engage in a fulfilling and meaningful way of being in the world.

As allied health professionals, registered Art Therapists require a minimum of a Master’s degree in Arts Therapy, they must undergo continuing clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
